The Drug problem

Elvis had a big fall, the weakness of pleasing others, of needing the acceptance from his friends to the degree of doing whatever it takes to reach that goal!

He was a nice , decent person who loved his family and friends, and felt responsible for them he worked hard , harder than anybody can endure, that what made him Elvis Presley the legend of music, but he wasn't hard enough to let go when the time obliged him to, to get rid of those who intoxicated his life, this weakness caused him to feel dependent , not only on others to handle those matters but also on drugs, it is his personality that started it, it was prescribed but he hadn't enough strength or desire to stop, and kept the wheel going.
Those who cared weren't tough enough to make the change , stopped when he resisted , although it was natural, he was in pain.

But at the end may be it was his agony that made his music, that gave him the feeling he gave us in his songs,and by all means his life was worth living not only for him but for all of us.

The Movies

The movies years were long they started before the army with 4 films as mentioned before and continued after the return home. Mostly they were easy made light romance comedy with lots of fabulous girls, even their names contained the word girl alot to emphasize the target!
But you can't ignore that having Elvis in a movie was a sure winning ticket, not in US only but also abroad which was the only way he got to get to his worldwide fans, thanks to the Colonel!
Inspite of this he did great in them, you could laugh with him, relax and have fun, his films were like Cartoon films with the sure happily ever after end. But we must mention his serious roles in others like Flaming star, Wild in the country, Charro!, he was great, real natural and you could believe him easily even in Follow that dream you could believe his naivity and laugh about it with no regrets!!Just great.
He was a great actor but I would be lying if I said it was what the audience wanted ,NO they wanted the singer!! and they sure got what they wanted.
His biggest mistake , although it wasn't his, was Nourman Taurog the director, he made a bunch of exactly the same films, may be that what got Elvis depressed about the movie carrier, but to give him the credit he did his best even from scratch!.
Those years were hard working with 3 films per year, he was a real hard worker, he loved his work and his fans that's the truth.

68 comeback special

68 comeback was a real bienvenue to Elvis, he really stole the eyes of the audience and proved he was still a fighter in the show business, he wanted to do it early since 65 but the movie contracts were his obstacle , so he got rid of his load , he even did another movie (Change of habbit) as a part of the deal to the special, one of my favourites if not the best!

This comeback showed his energetic reflection on the small audience in a closed rehearsal and was the root of the concert contracts and gain of trust for the tours later on. It begain the era of Elvis's live performances, which ended tragically by his death in 77.

68 was the year Lisa Marie was born ,and Priscilla was still on the faithful face , so it was a happy year for him in many ways!He appeared in black leather which marked the show ,together with the big red ELVIS lights at the back, and was awesome!!

Elvis in the 50's

His start was a hit with great songs like Don't be cruel, Hound dog, Blue suede shoes, he toured around alot, getting the teens screaming and crazy!
It was his shaking dancing period and the TV shows, like Ed Sulliven Show.
Also his beginning of the movie carreir with Love me tender, Loving you and Jailhouse rock .
This took a pause with his army draft while shhoting king Kreole which he continued when they agreed to pospone the draft.

He was an example of the repellent youth of the period, that's why the teens at this time got crazy with his songs and style, he represented them more than anybody did.

The Elvis personality

He had a very unique personality ,we couldn't see except the crust of it but his music showed it well, a very nice decent guy with thirsty mind for learning and exploring the new areas of life, hide in a colourful sparkling outfits to hide inside, no body could get nearer to the person but a chosen few, mostly not chosen by him!
At first the stardom hit him hard, stroke his family with money ,fame, and all that lights, they never recovered, as he said before. But inspite of all this he was a legend in his own time and the present and predictably to the future!
In the army every thing was changed again in a glance, he was separated from his beloved family ,from his established life that started to have a meaning, but sadly his mother died of acute hepatitis, his milestone was lost in a minute , may be he never recovered from that till his end, she was his beloved and armor sometimes, remember she held the Colonel teeth away from him at that time! Also he discovered a new world, new friends even a new hoppy ;Karate which lasted with him till the end.
Those friends were different , they had the war in their minds ,more supmersed in the troubles of their own time and may be wilder in their acts, it is here where he got to know his future wife Priscilla , which stuck to his neck till the end, caused so much saddness that he was the never the same as before. But also we can't forget the lovely Lisa Marie which was the apple of his eye.
Somehow his life changed from the roots after his divorce, tried to balance it with playing around but his great success in the show business with Aloha from Hawaii, and the Tour concerts was beyond reality.
Yet being unable to go world wide due to Colonel Parker was a real loss!!
Inspit eof the hard knocks, he is the best entertainer ever and I think that what really mattered to him ,God bless his soul.
